Dear Patriots,
I love you. No. I FUCKING love you (sorry for the language but that’s what us Pats fan say). Can we just take a moment to talk about what happened yesterday? I mean really. I still have no idea what happened. All I know is I cried several times throughout the game, I lost my voice screaming at the TV, and I consumed way too much beer for a Sunday night. Pretty sure I had a heart attack at some point throughout the game as well, but hey… none of that matters anymore. All I can think about is the fact that you won the Super Bowl…. AGAIN. Not for the first time, or the third… but for the fifth time! Are you kidding me?! There are no words to describe this feeling. And I can assure you the rest of your fans are feeling the same way. People, including myself, always say ‘how did they do it?’ and I finally figured it out. How do the Pats always make a comeback? How do they get better every year? How do they do it? Well, it’s simple. Because you’re the pats!! You’ve successfully managed to set new records, exceed expectations, and break boundaries throughout the NFL. You are a team that is amazing both on and off the field, and I can’t wait to see what you guys do next season and the many seasons after that.
With that being said, tomorrow is a big day for us fans. We get to flood the streets of Boston and welcome you guys home the right way. I can’t wait to see champagne fly in the air, confetti all over the place, music blasting, people everywhere screaming and chanting your names. But what I really can’t wait for, is to see you all in the duck boats with your family and friends and see that fifth ring shimmering in the lights! Let me say that again, the FIFTH ring. Damn that feels good to say. Can’t imagine wearing 5 rings. Tom, let me know how that feels. Tonight, and for many nights to come, I will sleep with a smile on my face. Can’t wait to see you all tomorrow, holding that trophy up with pride and joy. Congrats again boys, you did it!
Once more, you did your job, and now it’s time for us to welcome you boys home. See you at the parade.
Roger that,
A proud Pats fan.
